Black KKK Members – When these white-clothed “ghosts” would show up even just once, all potential Union league pow-wows would be halted in hidden places in the woods, and they would flee to other places – that was the real essence of the ghost parade. KKK soldiers did other things outside ensuring the well-being of whites. KKK soldiers protected the blacks also when Nathan Beckett Forest was elected to Grand Wizard. In opposition to Northern myths, the real KKK was not a group against black people. Instead, it was a fraternity against the Yankees and The Union League Black Soldiers accompanied by the carpetbaggers during Reconstruction to finish stealing southern wealth and intimidate voting, that “anti-Republican”.
