Giclee canvas print; size; 24″ x 30″
Upon the approval of President Abraham Lincoln, and the Secretary of war Edward M. Stanton, Butler began to devise his scheme, ready to put it into action. However, his plan was thwarted early on by the rebels who had caught wind of it and fought like they were possessed to defend the capital of Richmond. On February 7, 1864, all of Butler’s troops were sent marching back just as they had begun their journey. From the book: “The politically correct president Jefferson Davis”
